    Pilates at A-Tone

    Pilates is a physical fitness system that was developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates during the First World War with the intention to improve the rehabilitation program for casualties. Pilates classes build strength, flexibility and lean muscle tone with an emphasis on lengthening the body and aligning the spine, rather than on bulking and shortening the muscles. It has a focus on the core which can basically be thought of as the ‘powerhouse’ of your body.


    A-Tone Fitness Lounge offers Pilates with a difference. Known for its ability to help realign the spine, strengthen the core, Pilates is an excellent way rejuvenate the body after strenuous activity and to help build lean muscle. The low-impact, high-intensity training techniques of Pilates make it the ideal workout for those looking for an intense workout even for those times that the body undergoes recovery.


    We offer Jumpboard Pilates, Chair Pilates Reformer Pilates and Mat Pilates.


    The Jumpboard is a Reformer accessory that is often used for plyometric training as it mimics the hard surface of the floor, ideal for stability, strength and resistance training. The EXO chair is a high intensity regime that is excellent for enhancing the core. Reformer and Mat Pilates assist one to strengthen the core, and are ideal for beginners in the Pilates realm. We will introduce you to Circuit Pilates with mat Circuit classes, for you to gain an understanding of how it works. During your session you will be using accessories such as the Tobu Ball, Magic circle, Thera band and Foam roller.

    Presenting SHREDTM, a hybrid of high intensity and circuit training based on functional movements that pick elements from HIIT, Olympic weightlifting, plyometrics and calisthenics combined with aerobics and resistance strongman training that make for a complete body showdown for the most clean and helpful workout to reach your goals.


    We consider your current levels of stamina, body mass index, health and your goals for your body to create the most targeted weight-loss and muscle-gain workout like no other. You will be working with kettlebells, ropes, and resistance equipment as well as using the strength of your own body to push the limits of high-intensity training.


    We offer two styles of SHREDTM training:

    Originating from the Sanskrit-chanting gurus from the valleys of the Himalayas, Yoga is a practice in disciplining the mind, body and soul for a metaphysical experience that rejuvenates and brings about a balance in the chakras of the body.

    During the course of the day, we breathe in and out like our bodies are accustomed to, but often the breath released is narrow, not allowing for enough oxygen to reach the vital forces of the body.


    Persons who suffer from depression, low stamina, and complex In Yoga, the body, mind and prana, the life force of the body, are refreshed extended through regulated breathing and poses that strengthen the core and limbs.


    At A-Tone, our trainers aim to help you relax and revitalize your body and mind with a range of many different techniques, to increase spatial as well as body awareness, concentration and self-enquiry through meditation and exercises.
